Installation Guide
How to install
Ensure that the substrate is dry, even and structurally sound.
Happy Step should be installed 10mm away from each wall. This is an expansion gap around the perimeter of the room.
Tile the boards onto the floor surface in staggered rows (in a brick pattern) to avoid cross joints. Be sure to maintain a 10mm distance from the wall. Use a carpet adhesive to glue Gutex Happy Step if necessary.
To install cork floor coverings onto Happy Step:
Glue the surface of Gutex Happy Step with carpet adhesive to the sub-floor then glue the cork (minimum of 6mm) with carpet adhesive to Gutex Happy Step.
To install carpet onto Happy Step:
Glue Happy Step to the subfloor with full adhesive coverage. Then glue the carpet to the Happy Step. Note seams may show through. This type of flooring is not suitable for wheelchairs as excessive pressure may create permanent compacted wheel marks.
To install engineered wood flooring or laminate flooring onto Happy Step:
No glue is required for the Happy Step or flooring. Install the Gutex Happy Step as normal. Then install the wood or laminate flooring on top following the manufacturer’s instructions.
