Inventer Sound Insulation Insert
Product Overview
An optional extra for further noise reduction to reduce the sound transmission of the fan and external noise by its unique design to break sound waves.
The single sound Insulation Insert can be used in conjunction with the IV Smart+, IV14 Zero, IV Light and IV Compact. The IV Twin+ requires two separate smaller inserts due to their being a two way flow in this unit. Although the fans are quiet there may be a case where there is a need to add in some extra sound protection – for example if you live on a street where roadworks are taking place.
Overview
The Inventer Sound Absorbing Insert consists of a flexible melamine foam with a nap structure which is designed to significantly reduce ambient and fan noises by breaking sound waves multiple times. It can be integrated into an existing device or put in at installation stage.
What it does
It dampens the ambient and fan noise due to the large surface area and material of the insert. For the IV Smart+, IV14 Zero, IV Light, IV Compact the standard sound level difference (dB) is reduced by a max of 6dB and for the IV Twin+ the standard sound level difference (dB) is reduced by a max of 7dB.
Why we love it
It is very easy to install or take out as necessary, it can be easily cleaned when necessary by removing it from the unit at least six monthly and any dust or dirt particles should be shaken off the insert. Water is not recommended to clean the inserts.
It cleverly absorbs noise to reduce the overall dB level.
How it works
The Inventer sound absorbing insert consists of a flexible melamine foam with a nap structure which is designed to significantly reduce ambient and fan noises by breaking sound waves multiple times. The inner cover and filter should be removed from the unit and the sound absorbing insert should be folded so that both sides meet and place inside the wall sleeve – do not glue it in place. If it is being put in at installation stage, it should be placed into the wall sleeve before the filter and inner cover go on. It is 165mm in length and can be cut to size using a knife if necessary. It is worth noting that using the sound absorbing insert reduces the airflow by 10%. Defective or heavily soiled sound absorbing inserts should be replace immediately as this will affect the airflow.
