Pro Clima Tescon Vana Patch
Product Overview
To repair holes or damage on air and windtight membranes, airtight panels and racking boards. Also to seal cored holes in panels where blown-in insulation has been used.
Internal or external membranes, smooth timber, planed or painted timber, plastic, metal, and wood-based panels or boards. Also sticks to wood fibre insulation boards and smooth plaster or concrete surfaces when Tescon Sprimer or Tescon RP is used first.
Overview
Pro Clima Tescon Vana Patch is a robust self-adhesive patch for airtight sealing of holes and damaged areas in internal or external membranes, wood-based boards and Woodfibre insulation that has been primed with Tescon Sprimer or Tescon Primer RP. It is made from Tescon Vana tape that has been independently tested by Kassel University to prove, via accelerated aging techniques, that it will remain airtight for 100 years. The Patch is an ideal size for sealing over core holes in wood-based panels where blown-in insulation is being installed.
Where to use it
Tescon Vana Patch will permanently stick to any Pro Clima internal, or external membrane and other membranes made from PE, PA, PP, PET and aluminium. It will also permanently bond to planed or painted timber, OSB, plywood, MDF, plastics and metal.
For permanent adhesion on wood fibre insulation boards, concrete, plaster or smooth masonry, Tescon Sprimer or Tescon Primer RP should be used first to stabilise the surface. On surfaces that are painted or may come away, detach or delaminate, we recommend doing an adhesion test first.
What it does
Tescon Vana Patch is a robust airtight adhesive patch for sealing over holes and damaged areas on airtight membranes and boards. Being quick to install, it instantly repairs accidental punctures and tears in membranes that can occur during construction. The patch is made from 180mm square Tescon Vana airtight tape.
How it works
Tescon Vana Patch uses fully water-resistant solid acrylic glue that is unaffected by changes in temperature and humidity. It has high adhesion and excellent cohesion which means the glue holds together, won't slip and can provide the longest-lasting seal possible. Lower quality patches use dispersion glue which reacts with moisture to cause the adhesive to break down relatively quickly (within a few months).
Why we love it
Tescon Vana Patch, with its solid acrylic glue activated by using a Pressfix tool, gets stronger over time. This makes it an ideal adhesive for construction projects in wet climates and extreme weather conditions like those in the UK and Ireland. After 24 hours, you will no longer be able to remove the patch.
It makes repairing holes through which fibrous insulation was blown into walls and roofs much easier. It is also a very convenient patch for covering and sealing airtight any tears, scrapes and punctures in airtight membranes that might occur during construction.
Tescon Vana has been independently tested and proven to remain airtight for 100 years, by Kassel University, using accelerated aging techniques. Only Pro Clima have achieved this level of durability.
Tescon Vana is also Passivhaus certified as part of the Intello Plus airtightness system.

Installation Guide
Find an installerThe release paper can be easily removed using your finger. Position the tape over the hole or damaged area with both hands.

Ensure that the adhesive backing is stuck to at least 2cm of solid/undamaged surface all around the hole/damaged area.

Make sure that when sticking the patch no folds or creases occur. Firmly press the patch onto the surface with a Pressfix tool. This ensures the maximum strength of bond can be achieved.
