Overview

A detailed fixing specification can be calculated by our technical team, who have access to Heco's HCS software. Contact us for this free service prior to making your purchase.

Heco Topix countersunk wood construction screws are designed for use as shear or suction screws, inserted at 45°, 60° or 90°, to fix Gutex Multitherm and Ultratherm wood fibre insulation boards to timber rafters and studs. They have a specially designed Heco Topix tip and shank to ensure faster and easier installation with reduced risk of splitting and up to 30% less effort to screw them in.

Where to use it

Heco Topix Plus wood Countersunk construction screws are used in timber constructions, for screwing into timber rafters and studs and wood fibre insulation boards (at 45°, 60° or 90°) externally into structural timber in walls and roofs. Typically used as suction or shear screws with Gutex natural wood fibre boards insulation or other high density wood fibre boards.

What it does

Heco Topix Plus Countersunk screws are structural screw fixings for securing materials to a solid timber substrate material. The countersunk head is optimised for screws inserted at an angle. Each screw also has a smooth unthreaded section so when it is screwed in, this area does not grip the insulation and pull it causing compression, damage, and a reduction in thermal performance.

Why we love it

Thanks to Heco's revolutionary shank and point design, up to 30% less effort is required. A Heco Topix Plus Screw Setting tool should also be used to safely position the screw at the perfect angle. With this tool, the installer only needs to drive the screw all the way in. Thanks to the revolutionary shank and point in Heco Topix screws, there is no need to pre-drill screw holes, the risk of the material cracking is minimised by this innovative design.

Installation Guide

To make sure you have the correct number of screws in the correct lengths required for your project, contact our technical team who will run a free calculation through Heco’s HCS software.

A Torx screwdriver bit is required for installation. The use of a triangle template is essential to ensure perfect alignment of each fixing whether installed as a shear screw or suction screw, the template will guide the screw in the correct direction and ensure perfect results each time.
