Heco Topix flange head wood construction screws are designed for use as suction screws, inserted at 90°, to fix Gutex Multitherm and Ultratherm wood fibre insulation boards to rafters and studs. They have a specially designed Heco Topix tip and shank to ensure faster and easier installation with reduced risk of splitting and up to 30% less effort to screw them in.
Where to use it
Heco Topix countersunk wood construction screws are used in timber constructions, for screwing through timber battens and wood fibre insulation boards (at 90°) into structural timber in walls and roofs. Typically used as suction screws with Gutex natural wood fibre insulation or other high density wood fibre boards.
If your project is found in close vicinity to marine environments it is important to contact our technical team. In such areas we recommend a stainless steel screw.
What it does
Heco Topix are structural screw fixings for securing wood fibre insulation to solid timber rafters and studs. With a flanged head, each screw is optimised for insertion at 90°. Each screw also has a smooth unthreaded section so when it is screwed in, this area does not grip the insulation and pull it causing compression, damage, and a reduction in thermal performance.
Why we love it
Thanks to Heco’s revolutionary shank and point design, the application of the Heco Topix plus Flange Head screws, inserted at 90°, is effortless for the installer; up to 30% less effort is required. Thanks to the revolutionary shank and point in Heco Topix screws, there is no need to pre-drill screw holes, the risk of the material cracking is minimised by this innovative design.

How to install
To make sure you have the correct number of screws in the correct lengths required for your project, contact our technical team who will run a free calculation through Heco’s HCS software.
A Hedo Drive screwdriver bit or equivalent size of Torx screwdriver bit is required for installation. The use of a triangle template is essential to ensure perfect alignment of each fixing whether installed as a shear screw or suction screw, the template will guide the screw in the correct direction and ensure perfect results each time.
