Matfen Hall, Northumberland

Set in 300 acres of stunning Northumbrian parkland, Matfen Hall hotel, golf club and spa commissioned a retrofit of their existing clubhouse facility, alongside a handsome contemporary new build extension. Pro Clima Adhero 3000 peel & stick membrane was first applied to protect the CLT panels during the construction phase, whilst also providing permanent airtightness. Gutex Multitherm woodfibre insulation was then installed on roof and walls, with its superior thermal and acoustic properties to help deliver a quiet, calm space with year-round thermal comfort. For weather protection and breathability, Pro Clima’s Solitex Plus windtight membrane was installed on the roof, and Solitex Fronta Quattro breather membrane applied before installation of the timber rainscreen. The existing timber-frame clubhouse was refurbished with Gutex Thermoflex flexible woodfibre insulation and Intello Plus airtightness membrane.
