Period Townhouse Retrofit, Galway

Nestled in the heart of Galway city, this protected structure, dating back to the 1840s, has undergone a conversion from its former role as a solicitor's office to a contemporary, urban family home. As part of the renovation, breathable natural insulation, along with Pro Clima airtightness material, were used to align with modern energy standards. Notably, Diasen insulating plaster now envelops the internal face of stone walls, while Calsitherm calcium silicate insulation boards were also used in some areas. This complementary blend of historic preservation and modern functionality epitomises the meticulous approach undertaken in the renovation.
