A half day course for installers, contractors and home owners focussing on airtightness installation using the Pro Clima product range including a demo and practical session.
Description
The urgent need to lower the ongoing running costs of existing buildings to reduce environmental impact is now more crucial than ever. By maximising the performance of the components and materials that make-up the building fabric itself, the energy demands can be significantly reduced. An effective Airtightness strategy is fundamental when taking a 'fabric first' approach, providing many benefits including reduced running costs and improved occupier comfort.
This half day in-person event is intended to support installers, contractors and home owners with on site Airtightness application. The event will start by covering the theory behind Airtightness, why it's important and what and which products are to be used where and why. This will be followed by a practical session, demonstrating solutions and techniques to achieve optimal airtightness results for various details and junctions including sealing around windows and doors, joist ends, wall to floor junctions etc. Delegates will then have the chance to apply the products themselves on a range of demonstration models that will be provided.
Agenda
The session will start with a brief presentation covering:
- What and Why Airtightness
- Airtightness products and Where to use them
Following a short break Gregg and Tom will lead a practical demonstration on:
- Rolling out & fixing an airtight membrane
- Sealing airtight membrane overlaps
- Sealing around a window
- Sealing a floor junction
- Sealing around penetrations
- Sealing around joists
Then it is over to you for an interactive practical session using the Pro Clima product range and demo models available around the room.
