Where to use it
Auro 267 Floor Varnish is a natural, environmentally friendly, nontoxic alternative to conventional floor varnishes. It is suitable for use on interior wood and wood-based materials, especially suited for floors. The Auro varnish provides a hard-wearing film on top of the surface with a moderate gloss finish.
What it does
It is a water-based floor varnish which minimises VOC emissions without compromising on performance. It provides a hard-wearing finish without the harsh chemicals of conventional varnishes.
Why we love it
It is easy to use and provides a hard-wearing film. It is certified as safe for toys (DIN EN 71 Part 3) and saliva and sweat proof (DIN 53160). It is made from natural occurring materials and minerals.
This eco-friendly floor varnish is made from entirely natural ingredients, the product can be composted and thus returning to the natural life cycle of materials.
How it works
The wooden floor varnish creates a thin transparent layer on top of the surface so protects the wood from the outside. At least 2 thin coats are recommended.
It will be dust dry after 10 hours and it can be recoated after 24 hours, plenty of ventilation should be allowed during the drying period as high humidity, low temperatures, excessive application volumes and insufficient air supply will slow down drying rates. Final hardness is achieved after 4 weeks.
The eco friendly floor varnish can be thinned with a maximum of 20% water if necessary
Hint and tips
If you want coloured floor varnish, the mixture of Auro Floor paint 267 and Auro Satin paint 260 can produce intense colour shades. Dependent on the required colour shade and the desired intensity of the colour, up to 20% of coloured satin paint 260 can be added to the floor paint for a coloured finish. If choosing this option the final coat should be a clear coat without any colour.
Before applying this wooden floor varnish, test the base for suitability by applying a sample coat.

Installation Guide
Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust.
The surface must be primed with either Auro Hard Primer 127 or Auro Special Primer 117 depending on the type of timber. After drying, the surface should be carefully and lightly sanded with 120 grit sandpaper if the Auro Hard Primer 127 was used. If the Auro Special Primer was used an extremely light rub of sandpaper is all that’s needed – it is important not to sand down. Remove all dust before proceeding with the varnish.
Apply a very thin layer of Auro 267 Floor Varnish using a floor varnish roller and a small brush for corners. Evenly apply the varnish in the direction of the wood grain. When dry (usually after 24 hours but please note significant drying delays are caused by high humidity, low temperatures and excessive application volumes.) sand lightly in the direction of the wood grain using 150 grit sandpaper. Remove any dust and repeat the process. A minimum of 2 coats of the Auro 267 Floor varnish are necessary.
After 3 – 5 days the floor is loadable again and items can be put on the floor. It should however be treated carefully as it will not achieve full hardness for 4 weeks. During this period the floor should be kept dry and a wash should only be done after this time. After this the floor can be cleaned using Auro Floor Cleaner 427.
The tools should be cleaned with water and Auro Plant Soap 411 after use. If necessary Auro Orange Oil 191 can be used too.
