This is a versatile product that can be used on all types of furniture and wooden surfaces throughout the house. It is quick and easy to apply.
Where to use it
This Auro One Off Oil is suitable for interior use on wood, wood-based materials and cork. (Not to be used on MDF or cross-cut wooden flooring). It leaves a slightly honey colour and a slight satin finish
It is available in a 1 litre tin and this will cover 20sq/m.
What it does
This is a versatile product that can be used on all types of furniture and wooden surfaces throughout the house. The oil fills the pores of the surface and once these are fully saturated it protects the surface from dirt, water, grease etc… while allowing the surface to breathe. Areas where the oil is rapidly soaked up should be resaturated wet-on-wet up to three times, depending on the given requirements. After a drying time of approx. 20 minutes, all surplus oil should be rubbed into the wood, and if not absorbed should be removed with a polishing pad or cloth. It produces a slightly honey colour finish. This product is VOC free and is classified as safe for toys.
Why we love it
It is solvent free so therefore a very low odour. It’s suitable for use on toys which means it’s a very safe product. It is a very quick application for an oil as the coats can be added wet on wet up to 3 times before rubbing in and removing any excess.
Very easy to use; apply, remove excess oil, polish: done!
How it works
The Auro oil when applied thinly will penetrate the surface and fill the open pores. The drying process is initiated by oxygen uptake (oxidation) so it is vital that there is sufficient ventilation during the drying period. Avoid exposure to dirt and moisture while drying. Drying delays can be caused by high humidity, low temperatures, exposure to liquids, or insufficient air supply.
Hint and tips
It is important not to crumple up cloths with oils on them as they could spontaneous combust. Instead cloths should be spread out and allowed to dry and when dry they can be reused again or disposed of in the household waste.
We always advise to carry out a test application prior to undertaking a large job.

How to install
The oil should be applied thinly which will then soak into the surface and fill the pores. A 1 litre tin will cover up to 20sq/m. Auro One-off oil should be applied with a brush, roller or a non-fluffing cloth on the surface that is to be treated. Areas where the oil is rapidly soaked up should be resaturated wet-on-wet up to three times, after approx. 20 minutes, all surplus oil should be rubbed into the wood, and finally removed with a polishing pad or cloth. In the event of considerable surplus oil this can be removed with spatulas made of metal or plastic and collected for renewed use. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
When renovating an oiled surface clean firstly with a mild cleaning agent, e.g. Auro Paint and stain cleaner 435. This is then followed with One-off oil applied with a fluff free cloth or a polishing pad for larger areas like floors. To keep the surface looking its best and prolong the need for renovation we recommend treatment with Auro Care oil 106. A wax can also be used over the oil if desired.
A colour can be added to the oil by using the Auro Colour Concentrate 150. The more Colour Concentrate that is added the darker the shade while still allowing the woods grain to show through. A maximum of 10% Colour Concentrate can be added to this oil.
Tools should be cleaned using the Auro Orange Oil 191 and then rinsed using water and Auro Plant Soap 411 as necessary.
