Why we love it
We love that it is often hard to find a good ecological metal primer and Auro have developed this one made from natural materials and it works really well. It can go onto surfaces with temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. It can be used indoors or outside and is a vegan friendly product.
How it works
Any surfaces containing rust should be removed using a wire brush or by sanding. The rust primer creates an excellent bond to the metal to be overcoated with Auro paints. It should be very finely sanded before applying the next coat of paint.

Installation Guide
The substrate must be clean, dry, chemically neutral, rust free and able to support the paint. Clean the substrate and thoroughly derust by using a wire brush or sandpaper, 60 – 120 grit. It is important not to use rust converters.
If there is old paint that is in poor condition it should be removed or if the surface is in good condition and is able to support paint it should be sanded before painting. A test area is always recommended before carrying out a large job.
The paint can be applied straight from the can if brushing and rolling. It can be thinned with Auro Orange Oil 191 if spraying.
On interior surfaces one primer coat is sufficient, we recommend two coats exterior allowing 48 hours in between coats. Lightly sand in between coats.
Follow up treatments should be done with Auro Satin Paints 517 or 260, or Gloss Paints 516, or 250.
Tools should be cleaned using Auro Orange Oil 191 then washed with water and Plant Soap 411 as necessary.
